World Waste Services' New Recycling Contract
(Miami, Florida) March 31, 2008 – World Waste Services has been awarded a residential recycling contract serving 224,000 homes, making it one of the largest contracts in the nation. The South Florida-based company will begin the collection of single stream recycling for residents in Miami-Dade County, the fourth largest county in the United States. Service is anticipated to begin on June 30, 2008.
“This is a major step in the evolution of World Waste,” said company Vice President Eileen Damaso. “While we’ve been servicing residential, commercial and industrial accounts since the company began in 2002, the contract with Miami-Dade County confirms our place as a leading supplier to government.” World Waste recently secured garbage collection contracts with several other South Florida municipalities including the City of Fort Lauderdale, City of Stuart, Village of Virginia Gardens and the Town of Bay Harbor Islands.
World Waste Services and affiliate companies are privately held Florida corporations that collect, transport, recycle and dispose of solid waste, construction, demolition and debris for residential and commercial clients. World Waste Services operates its own recycling construction and demolition transfer stations. The company’s current service area covers the southeast coast of Florida, including Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe, Palm Beach and St. Lucie counties.
